Complex Waste Streams or those materials requiring much more due care at the front end and during final decontamination are treated through a combination of systems that run under our MBT permit.
The waste streams can vary but are all treated as ABP, these can be municipal waste streams including bio-fines, liquids and sludges, filter cakes and heavily packaged materials. The aim is to recover as high a percentage of the organic fraction as possible and remove as much of the non-organic materials such as plastic, glass and metals which are sent on for further treatment at our other recycling facilities.
RECOVERY OF THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF ORGANIC, FRACTION AS POSSIBLE AND... EXTRACTION OF AS MUCH OF THE NON-ORGANIC MATERIALS
The systems produce a Compost-Like Output (CLO) which is removed and pre-blended with a mix of other composts before its final maturation. It is used as a non-agricultural restoration material such as landfill capping or for remediation works. This is deployed under a strict off site development permit and tailored to a set specification requested by the customer to ensure the CLO is utilised to best suit the ongoing use of the land.
